In Pain
I attend almost every performance by Hermanos Espinoza. I thoroughly enjoy each event. Every once in a while, I’m slightly let down - but well, they can’t always be flawless. This performance was a unique experience. My elderly mom and I had to leave during intermission. The symphony had 2 singers, one of whom truly pained my ears and caused discomfort in my head with each note sung. It was akin to scraping nails on a chalkboard. The microphone was positioned so near to the mouth that the words were barely discernible. This is the first time I feel like I wasted my hard-earned money. In the future, I wish the symphony would clearly indicate when they will have a singer and who that singer is, so that we can make a more informed choice on whether to attend that particular performance or not.
